During the fall 2024 semester, I had the opportunity to serve as an ESPN Director for Jax State Athletics, where I immersed myself in a dynamic and fast-paced environment focusing on promoting collegiate sports. My responsibilities were multifaceted and pivotal in enhancing the visibility of Jax State’s athletic programs.

One of my primary roles involved coordinating the broadcast of Volleyball events. This included collaborating closely with production teams to schedule live games and ensuring that all necessary equipment was set up and operational. I was deeply involved in pre-game preparations, which entailed creating detailed event rundowns that outlined the commentary and key highlights to capture during the broadcast. I ensured that all elements were in place to deliver a seamless viewing experience.

Team meetings were also a significant part of my internship, where I collaborated with other directors, coaches, and staff to devise strategies for enhancing our athletic brand. I gained invaluable insights into the operational side of sports management and the importance of teamwork in achieving our goals.

Throughout my internship, I leveraged my communication skills to engage with various stakeholders, from athletes to fans, cultivating a positive atmosphere that celebrated school spirit. This experience not only honed my logistical and creative skills but also deepened my passion for sports and the role of media in promoting athletic excellence.
