About ME!

Hello! My name is Connor Barnett. Currently, I am studying communications at Jacksonville State University, where I reside in Jacksonville, Alabama.

I was born and raised in McCalla, AL. I graduated from a small private school Bessemer Academy where I became the Student Media Director all years of my high school career. During my high school career, I gained a passion for social media design and broadcasting sports.

I am currently in my third year at Jax State to pursue my dreams of becoming an ESPN Producer! Since my freshman year, I have been a Team Leader of our Sports Broadcasts Team having directed over 300 ESPN+ broadcasts. My interest in the sports world began to grow non-stop. The more interest I showed the more responsibilities I took on like becoming the Video Board Specialist for the Athletic Department. Leading this team has not only given me great skills and experience within the broadcast field but as well as great time management and leadership skills.

As I began to grow my knowledge in communications, as well as social media, I unlocked a new passion of mine… Social Media Design! I started expanding my skills in the analytics of how social media and marketing work. I started to expand my skills once again to learn graphic design, audio, and video production.

Knowing what I was most passionate about, I started to do freelance work for local small businesses, graphic design for the Jax State Cheer, and managing high clientele social media accounts. My passion for digital design continues to grow motivating me to learn new skills.

After graduation, I plan on finding a job as a Sports Social Media Content Coordinator or as a Sports Broadcast Producer!
